The Community Foundation of Lorain County aims to support non-profit organizations serving Lorain County through grants from over 400 endowment funds. Established in 1980, it strives to encourage philanthropy, including among young people with the Youth Fund started in 1998, which engages local students in philanthropic efforts to make a meaningful difference in their community.
The grant program prioritizes funding for projects or programs that tackle the root causes of social issues impacting the Hispanic Community. Areas of focus include enhancing public safety; supporting education initiatives to prevent crime and violence; improving Hispanic educational outcomes at all levels of schooling; fostering community development with a focus on citizen empowerment, neighborhood revitalization, and environmental concerns; and encouraging collaborative solutions to prevalent problems within the Hispanic Community.
