Overview

The Straits Area Youth Advisory Council (SAYAC) Grants program is designed to engage students in philanthropy and community improvement in the Cheboygan County and Mackinaw City areas. Through guidance from an adult advisor, SAYAC members learn the grant-making process and award funds to non-profit organizations that serve youth under 18. Funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the program prioritizes projects or programs that address specific youth needs such as depression, suicide, bullying, and substance abuse.
