The Daniels Fund Grants Program supports nonprofit organizations in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The program focuses on key areas: Aging, aiming for seniors to achieve maximum independence and quality of life; Amateur Sports, supporting youth sports and competition for elite athletes; Disabilities, supporting dignity and quality of life for people with developmental or physical disabilities; Drug & Alcohol Addiction, emphasizing prevention in youth and providing access to treatment and after-care services; Early Childhood Education, ensuring kindergarten readiness; Homeless & Disadvantaged, aiding individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency; K-12 Education Reform, supporting efforts to offer quality educational options and increase student achievement; and Youth Development, helping youth to develop character and essential life skills. The Daniels Fund operates with a clear focus on programs that align with their funding priorities, engaging closely with communities to understand varied local needs.

Review Criteria

Funding Priorities for Areas in Colorado Beyond the Front Range:

  • Programs aimed at supporting the youth, with a particular emphasis on initiatives that promote career, technical education, and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Projects focused on developing or enhancing facilities designed to foster community engagement, including but not limited to senior centers, youth centers, recreation facilities, and communal sports venues.
  • Established interventions providing education on prevention and/or treatment services for individuals battling substance abuse, including drugs and alcohol.
  • Efforts dedicated to generating significant positive change within communities by employing an effective collective impact approach.
