The mission of the Minnesota State Arts Board and Minnesota's designated regional arts councils is to steward funding through the State of Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF) to support arts access, arts education, and arts and cultural heritage, aimed at creating a strong arts legacy in Minnesota.
The East Central Regional Arts Council offers Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (Legacy) grants for arts projects sponsored by various groups, organizations, nonprofits, and government entities within the Region 7E service area. The grant program supports a wide array of larger arts projects, including but not limited to performances, exhibitions, theatre productions, residencies, workshops, public art projects, and art equipment purchases. It emphasizes producing activities that result from the projects, with no limit on the number of grants received per fiscal year, though applicants can submit only one application per deadline. An Outcome Evaluation Plan is required for funding, emphasizing broad goals to promote participation and access to the arts for community audiences.
