The Erie Insurance Giving Network grant program focuses on uplifting communities through a variety of support areas. These include community building efforts like supporting the United Way, urban revitalization, satisfying basic human needs, cultural and arts initiatives, promoting entrepreneurialism, and enhancing education. They are also dedicated to safety by backing the disaster relief work of the American Red Cross among other programs aimed at keeping individuals and families secure. Additionally, they emphasize environmental responsibility by engaging in activities such as planting community gardens and supporting programs focused on responsible use of resources, energy, and the adoption of new technologies.

  • Erie Insurance will accept one request annually from any qualified organization
  • National organizations will be funded at the local level
  • Requests should support community areas of focus: Safety, Community Building, and Environmental Responsibility
  • Requests will be directed to the ERIE office closest to the requesting organization
  • Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations should be located in the areas served by Erie Insurance
  • Organizations requesting over $10,000 need to submit additional documentation

Individuals
Athletic programs, scholarships, events, or booster clubs
Churches and religious organizations (excluding community service programs)
Elementary, middle, and high schools
Political and labor organizations
National organizations (excluding local chapters supporting the local community)
Organizations not aligned with ERIE’s diversity and inclusion commitment
Trusts or similar organizations (including Charitable Remainder Trusts, Donor Advised Funds, Private or Family Foundations, or Family Trusts)
Donations providing direct benefit to the donor or their family (tuition, scholarship funds designated by the donor, donations leading to benefits of more than nominal value, membership dues, church-related financial commitments).

Preference will be accorded to organizations that show a dedication to their communities through the inclusion of community representatives within their governing structures.
