FCC Communities Foundation awards grants to community projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund. Established in 1997, it aims to support over 7,500 projects across the UK with a focus on benefiting the communities near landfill sites.
The FCC Community Action Fund provides funding for projects within 10 miles of an FCC Environment landfill site, specifically under Object D or DA of the Landfill Communities Fund. Offering grants between £2,000 and £100,000 for projects with a maximum cost of £500,000, the fund prioritizes well-thought-out projects that offer value for money, are deliverable and sustainable, meet a defined need, and have community support and benefits. Projects should demonstrate a clear need, relevant consultation and support, sustainability post-completion, reasonable costs with good value, appropriate timescales for deliverability, and a significant impact on the natural, social, or built environment benefiting the local community.
