The Galena Foundation aims to preserve, enhance, or nurture Galena's heritage, culture, and quality of life. Established in 1980 by a group of Galenians, its mission is embodied through financial support for community projects that align with these goals.

The Galena Foundation Grant program seeks to fund not-for-profit organizations whose efforts support the foundation's mission of preserving Galena's heritage and history. The program is open to applications year-round, and grants are awarded to projects that enhance or nurture the community's culture and quality of life. For projects with costs exceeding $15,000, a competitive bid is required.
