The Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce is committed to addressing Maine’s workforce challenges. Through collaboration with businesses, associations, nonprofits, and municipalities, the Center aims to foster workforce development and provide vital financial support and resources for frontline workers and staff pursuing educational advancements.
The Maine Workforce Development Compact grant program focuses on enhancing the skills and education of Maine's workforce. The program offers financial support up to $1,200 per frontline worker, scholarships for community college, advisory services for educational success, and maintenance of training records. It targets all Maine companies with additional support for small- and mid-sized businesses and emphasizes training through community colleges, third-party vendors, or company-based programs. Membership in the Maine Workforce Development Compact is required to access these services and apply for grant funding.
