Idaho National Laboratory (INL) aims to lead in nuclear research, renewable energy systems, and security solutions to enable transformative changes around the globe. With a team of over 6,100, INL focuses on developing advancements in nuclear energy, creating carbon-free energy options, and ensuring national critical infrastructure protection. Their work includes testing advanced nuclear concepts, supporting NASA's space exploration through radioisotope power, improving electric vehicle batteries, safeguarding the power grid, and pioneering waste-to-fuel technologies among others.
The INL STEM Equity Grant aims to support educational programs for pre-K-12 students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. It seeks to increase participation among girls, rural and remote students, racial and ethnic minority students, and economically disadvantaged students in Idaho. With funding of up to $1,000, the grant targets both formal and informal educators who serve these historically underrepresented groups in STEM education and careers.
