The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Community Outreach and Engagement focuses on reducing the cancer burden in Indiana through community engagement, research, and education. They aim to facilitate and support collaborative efforts that translate into evidence-based practices and interventions in communities, particularly for underserved populations, to decrease cancer incidence and improve cancer care outcomes across the state.
The Large Collaborative Grant Request for Applications (RFA), sponsored by the Executive Associate Dean for Research (EADR), is designed to foster large, collaborative, interdisciplinary projects among faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine. These projects may include program project grants (P01s), center grants (P30s, P50s, P60s), and cooperative agreements (U54s). The key objective is to encourage faculty collaboration to develop innovative concepts that further the research goals of IUSM. Funded activities should primarily focus on conducting experiments to generate pivotal data for grant applications. The program provides up to $75,000 for each application, which is the cumulative limit for initial and any revised submissions by an investigator. This financial support is contingent upon the availability of funds from the EADR.
