The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Office of Community Outreach and Engagement focuses on reducing the cancer burden in Indiana through community engagement, research, and education. They aim to facilitate and support collaborative efforts that translate into evidence-based practices and interventions in communities, particularly for underserved populations, to decrease cancer incidence and improve cancer care outcomes across the state.
The Biomedical Research Grant (BRG) program aims to support biomedical research initiatives within the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). It is designed to benefit two main categories of research projects: those by new investigators at IUSM who lack extramural funding and need preliminary data to compete for such funding, and those by established IUSM investigators who are currently between funding periods from external sources. The grant provides up to $50,000 for projects lasting up to one year.
