The Foundation is committed to supporting conservation-focused non-profit organizations working to preserve and protect the environments and living organisms of the Salish Sea region. Through their competitive grant program, they aim to enhance the health of this region, encompassing areas in both the Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. state of Washington. Their mission is guided by their by-laws, articles of incorporation, status as an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organization, and the wishes of their founding member, Paul Wiseman.
The Foundation offers Community Conservation Education Grants with a maximum funding of $5000 to support modest, short-term conservation education projects. These grants are open to qualifying non-profit organizations focused on the Salish Sea region. Eligible projects can include direct educational programs and materials related to environmental conservation, lectures, conferences, seminars, written or audiovisual awareness materials, and curriculum or other instructional materials. The grants aim to further the Foundation's vision and mission by fostering education and awareness regarding environmental conservation in the Salish Sea region.
