The Foundation's grant program seeks to maximize community impact through strategic priorities guiding its grantmaking. Proposals aligning with these priorities have a better chance of funding. These include pilot projects that can become community models of excellence, creative solutions to unmet needs, projects encouraging volunteer involvement, collaborative efforts to avoid service duplication, initiatives poised to significantly improve quality of life for many, and projects promoting economic vitality. These principles underscore the Foundation's commitment to supporting innovative and impactful community development initiatives.

Review Criteria

Projects that align with one or more of the priorities below stand a better chance of securing funding, presented without any particular ranking:

  • A pioneering initiative that could become a benchmark for excellence within the community.
  • Initiatives offering innovative solutions to needs that have been recognized but not yet addressed in the community.
  • Initiatives or programs that foster volunteer participation.
  • Collaborative ventures among community nonprofits designed to reduce service redundancy.
  • Initiatives expected to significantly improve the quality of life for a large segment of the community.
  • Projects that contribute to the economic growth of the community.

The Foundation has a preference for contributing as a co-funder rather than being the exclusive source of project funding.
