The Louie M. & Betty M. Phillips Foundation Grant program is designed to provide financial assistance to Nashville Area Nonprofit Organizations. It awards grants primarily for General Operating Support and Programming or Project-Specific purposes within the range of $2,500-$5,000. Proposals are reviewed semi-annually, with deadlines for submission preceding the review meetings in June and November. The Foundation focuses on funding organizations that significantly contribute to the Nashville area, supporting various projects, equipment needs or programs with well-defined objectives, and promising broad benefits. While capital project support is offered, multi-year grant requests are currently not accepted. Additionally, the Foundation allows for Director Designated grants, where committee members can allocate funds to nonprofits of their choosing, reflecting the diverse interests of the committee members.
The Foundation is open to examining all grant applications; however, the Beneficiary Committee will prioritize proposals from non-profit organizations previously backed by Mr. and Mrs. Phillips. Applications not fitting this criterion will undergo assessment based on various factors such as the nature of the services provided, the client base size, fiscal health, and the overarching necessity of the requesting organization.
