The Victim Services Unit resides within the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy to promote services and policies that provide victims of crime: the right to be safe in their homes and in their communities; the right to have increased access to services; the right to possess the requisite tools to become self-sufficient in the aftermath of criminal activity; and the indispensable right to receive restitution.
The Protecting Against Hate Crimes Grant Program aims at providing nonprofits with support for security enhancements to prevent hate crimes. It seeks to enable a safer environment through financial assistance in areas such as contractual services, equipment purchases, operating expenses, personnel funding, and necessary travel expenses. These efforts are in line with enhancing protective measures for organizations susceptible to hate crimes while fostering a cooperative and informed network between relevant stakeholders.
