We are a private family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Texans both now and in the future. Our efforts focus on addressing the diverse needs across Texas through strategic grants supporting environment, public education, and mental health initiatives.
The grant program aims to support a wide range of causes within Texas, reflecting the state's diverse needs. The program focuses on several key areas:
Arts and Culture: Supporting organizations that provide opportunities for Texans to experience and benefit from the arts, with an emphasis on programs that promote public engagement and preserve cultural memories. A notable partnership is with Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts and the Meadows Museum.
Civic and Public Affairs
Education: Addressing the undeniable link between education quality and life quality, the foundation supports initiatives that enhance educational access, quality, and outcomes, acknowledging the impact of education on earnings, health, and well-being.
Environment: With an anticipated population increase in Texas, there's a critical focus on preserving ecological diversity while addressing growth needs, emphasizing sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
Health: Investing in health programs that innovate in service delivery and care ecosystems to improve Texans' health outcomes.
Human Services: Supporting programs that offer compassionate assistance to the most vulnerable, with a special focus on reducing homelessness in the Dallas area.
The foundation also prioritizes five initiatives related to long-term goals, including postsecondary completion, educator preparation, water conservation, depression treatment, and homelessness reduction. These priority areas receive special consideration in the grant review process. The grant program seeks well-planned projects by capable organizations that showcases measurable outcomes and potential for significant impact, with Foundation support being crucial for success. Grants mainly focus on specific programs or projects, especially those within the Dallas-Fort Worth area, making up to 50% of the foundation's giving.
