The San Francisco Women’s Entrepreneurship Fund, a collaboration between MEDA and the OEWD of the Mayor’s office, is committed to improving the small business climate for women entrepreneurs in San Francisco. It aims to foster growth and collaboration between women business owners and local technical assistance providers.
The grant program offers mini-grants up to $5,000 to women-owned small businesses in San Francisco for transformative projects and upgrades that will spur growth. Eligible projects range from business operations improvements and visual merchandising to marketing and space enhancements. The grant supports initiatives aligned with the businesses' reopening plans, covering expenses such as rent, utilities, payroll, recovery costs, and technology upgrades. Funding amounts are determined based on the project's potential for business expansion, the entrepreneur's capacity, the quality of technical assistance relationships, project feasibility, and the anticipated impact of the grant. Applicants are invited to pitch their proposals to the Fund Committee.
