Overview

The NSF CISE Directorate grant program focuses on fostering transformative research within the fields of computing, communications, and information science by funding proposals that tackle ambitious and fundamental research problems. It encourages collaborative efforts across disciplines and institutions, combining talents to address compelling research agendas with potentially significant impacts. The grant supports research across several core programs under its divisions: Computing and Communication Foundations, Computer and Network Systems, and Information and Intelligent Systems. Projects focused on research infrastructure are not within the scope of this solicitation. Proposals may request budgets ranging from $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 for periods up to five years.
