Overview

The Design for Environmental Sustainability in Computing (DESC) program aims to mitigate the significant environmental impacts of computing throughout its lifecycle, from design, manufacturing, and deployment, to operation and eventual reuse, recycling, and disposal. The grant supports projects that address these concerns in innovative ways. Proposals for different project types have specific deadlines, with Type I and Type II projects having set submission dates, and Type III projects accepted at any time.
