Type of Support

Overview

The grant program from PetSmart Charities focuses on amplifying the impact of Adoption Partners through in-store adoption opportunities and signature adoption events. It offers a comprehensive support package including:

  • A clean, safe, and free space for showcasing adoptable animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, and small pets to potential adopters.
  • Financial incentives for each pet adopted through the program, alongside eligibility for Adoption Prep grants aimed at preparing more pets for adoption.
  • The opportunity to participate in significant national adoption events held three times a year.
  • Provision of essential supplies such as food, litter, and habitat needs for pets within the store.
  • Dedicated support and promotional assistance from the PetSmart Charities team to help increase exposure to potential adopters.
  • Adoption Rewards program, which provides additional recognition and rewards for the successful placement of pets into loving homes, with payouts upon reaching new adoption thresholds.
  • Event-specific grants for Adoption Partners that can be utilized for a variety of needs, including marketing materials, event support essentials like furniture and permits, and medical preparation for pets such as wellness exams and vaccinations. These event grants are tiered based on the number of pets an organization brings to an adoption event, with a maximum grant of $5,000 available in the U.S., awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
