The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) aims to improve health and healthcare for all in the United States. Its mission encompasses enhancing the health and well-being of individuals and communities, with a notable emphasis on addressing health equity and fostering environments where everyone has a fair and just opportunity to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
This Call for Proposals (CFP) aims to fund a new cohort of research studies focusing on creating actionable evidence to assist medical, social, and public health systems in working collaboratively to combat various forms of systemic racism. Funded research must pinpoint a specific kind of systemic racism that impedes health and wellbeing in impacted populations. It should also explore innovative strategies for aligning systems—namely medical care, public health, and social services—to address these issues effectively. This involves engaging representatives from all three sectors to ensure comprehensive coverage and integration within the American health and social ecosystem. The CFP delineates two categories of research awards: Developmental Research and Impact Research, depending on whether the proposed systems alignment strategy has undergone pilot and feasibility testing.
