SDAC Arts Opportunity Grant

    From South Dakota Arts Council

The South Dakota Arts Council is a state agency serving South Dakotans and their communities through the arts.

    Type of Support

    Overview

Arts Opportunity Grants aim to assist organizations in presenting specific arts activities that emerge as sudden opportunities outside of their regular season and could not be planned for by the regular grant deadline. These grants focus on funding one-time events and require the grant amount to cover no more than 50% of the total project costs, ensuring each project has sufficient financial support through a dollar-for-dollar match by the applicant. The program is mainly targeted at organizations that have not received SDAC grants within the year, although exceptions are made for current recipients of specific grants, provided the proposed project is significantly different from their regular activities. The evaluation of applications includes checks on eligibility, project description, the contribution to the arts in the community, the indication of need for SDAC support, and a realistic budget with strong organizational commitment and additional public and private financial backing.
