To serve the citizens of Tennessee by promoting wise uses of our agricultural and forest resources, developing economic opportunities, and ensuring safe and dependable food and fiber.
The Agricultural Resources Conservation Fund (ARCF) is designed to promote environmental stewardship among Tennessee landowners by financially supporting the adoption of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that address issues like soil erosion and water pollution from agricultural activities. Landowners may receive financial assistance covering up to 75% of BMP installation costs. The grant program also allocates funds for educational initiatives that increase awareness and promotion of BMPs to tackle soil erosion and water quality degradation. Specific efforts include offering technical assistance, covering conservation field day expenses, and acquiring specialty agricultural equipment. A priority is placed on projects aimed at rehabilitating streams and rivers identified on the state’s List of Impaired Waters as affected by agricultural pollution.
