The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make healthcare safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used.
The grant program targets projects aimed at countering wildlife and timber trafficking in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Its goals include increasing the disruption and interdiction of illicit trade, strengthening investigative and enforcement functions, enhancing prosecutorial and judicial capacity, and developing cross-border and regional law enforcement coordination and information sharing. The program emphasizes building upon the civilian law enforcement capacities and capabilities of partner countries in the priority regions/countries.
