The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
The grant focuses on providing funding to eligible research institutions for the purpose of building new or renovating existing facilities to expand the breeding capacity and increase the production of specific pathogen-free (SPF) non-human primates (NHPs). These upgraded or new facilities are expected to support research activities that are in line with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) priorities for HIV/AIDS research. Grant requests must demonstrate the necessity based on current and future research needs involving SPF NHPs.
