From USDA: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.

Type of Support

Overview

The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) is focused on encouraging agricultural producers to implement further conservation activities and enhance, maintain, and manage existing ones. This voluntary program targets Tribal and private agricultural lands, as well as non-industrial private forest land, aiming to support producers in augmenting their current conservation efforts to bolster their operations' sustainability. CSP emphasizes equitable access for all producers, irrespective of the operation size, types of crops produced, or geographic location. The initiative is designed to benefit not just the producers but also the local communities by contributing to the improvement of water and air quality and providing essential resources like food and fiber. It operates on a continuous application basis with designated cutoff dates for application evaluation and funding decisions.
