MO Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)

From USDA: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.

Type of Support

Overview

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is designed to aid agricultural producers in pursuing agricultural production and environmental quality as parallel objectives. EQIP offers financial and technical help to apply conservation practices that improve environmental health on agricultural land. The program emphasizes support for socially disadvantaged, beginning, and limited resource farmers/ranchers, and military veteran farmers by providing incentives, including increased payment rates and advance payments for conservation practice implementation. It aims to address equity and inclusion, focusing on Historically Underserved individuals and groups by offering them higher payment rates and prioritization in funding pools. EQIP aligns with national priorities addressing soil, water, wildlife, air quality, and related natural resource concerns.
