PA Agricultural Management Assistance

From USDA: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

We deliver conservation solutions so agricultural producers can protect natural resources and feed a growing world.

Type of Support

Overview

The Pennsylvania Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) Program is designed to assist agricultural producers in managing financial risk through various means such as diversification, marketing, and implementing natural resource conservation practices. It encourages producers to undertake projects like constructing or improving water management or irrigation structures, planting trees for windbreaks or water quality improvement, and adopting practices for soil erosion control, integrated pest management, or transitioning to organic farming. The program is administered by the NRCS in collaboration with the Agricultural Marketing Service and Risk Management Agency, each overseeing different aspects of the program to support producers effectively.
