Type of Support

Overview

This grant program aims to support eligible communities in preparing for or recovering from emergencies that threaten the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. Such emergencies do not require a federal disaster declaration and can include droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease outbreaks, chemical spills, leaks, or seepage, among other disasters. The program offers two types of funding: Water transmission line grants of up to $150,000 for constructing waterline extensions, repairing breaks or leaks in existing water distribution lines, and related maintenance; and water source grants of up to $1,000,000 for constructing water sources, intakes, or treatment facilities.
