We are committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America.
This grant program assists eligible communities in preparing for or recovering from emergencies that compromise the availability of safe, reliable drinking water. Emergencies can include droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes, disease outbreaks, chemical spills, or other disasters. Importantly, a federal disaster declaration is not required to qualify. The program offers two types of grants: water transmission line grants up to $150,000 for repairs and necessary maintenance to replenish water supply, and water source grants up to $1,000,000 for constructing water sources, intakes, or treatment facilities. The overarching goal is to prevent damage or restore access to clean, reliable drinking water in eligible rural areas, thereby supporting the community's overall wellbeing and economic health.
