Overview

This program aims to provide technical assistance and training for small rural businesses defined as having fewer than 50 new employees and less than $1 million in gross revenue. It specifically supports projects benefiting rural areas or towns outside the urban periphery of cities with populations of 50,000 or more. There is no maximum grant amount, with smaller requests given priority and no cost-sharing required. The grants are categorized into Opportunity and Enterprise types, each with specific usage like training, technical assistance, land development, pollution control, capital for revolving loan funds, distance learning, transportation improvement, economic development, technology-based development, feasibility studies, leadership training, business incubators, and strategic planning. These grants aim to enhance the economic development and sustainability of rural communities.
