Type of Support

Overview

This program aims to support the development of clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage for households and businesses in eligible rural areas. The grant funds can be used for a wide range of activities, including the acquisition, construction, or improvement of drinking water sourcing, treatment, storage, and distribution; sewer collection, transmission, treatment, and disposal; solid waste collection, disposal, and closure; and storm water collection, transmission, and disposal. In addition, the program may cover related costs such as legal and engineering fees, land acquisition, water and land rights, permits, equipment, start-up operations and maintenance, interest incurred during construction, and the purchase of facilities to improve service or prevent loss of service, among others.
