Overview

The grant program focuses on increasing the effectiveness and sustainability of nonprofit organizations through strategic planning, financial sustainability planning, merger planning and implementation, diversity, equity, and inclusion policy development, and training for boards and staff that builds organizational capacity. Grants, not exceeding $5,000, are intended to supplement other funding sources and can be used to cover consultant costs for these activities. The program does not fund repeat initiatives within a three-year period, capital campaign preparation, grant writing fees, startup costs for new nonprofits, activities already completed, marketing and outreach consultant costs, staff licensures/certification expenses, or salary and benefits.

The initiative will give precedence to candidates possessing operational budgets not exceeding $500,000.
