The Wawa Foundation is dedicated to extending its support from the local communities it serves to its broader regional footprint across the mid-Atlantic and Florida. The foundation focuses on funding organizations within its operational areas that address three key areas: Health, by saving and improving lives; Hunger, through leading hunger relief efforts; and Everyday Heroes, by supporting those making a difference daily.
The Wawa Foundation offers financial grants, specifically Wawa Local Connection Grants, to local non-profit organizations that operate within Wawa’s six-state area. Eligible organizations must be registered 501(c)(3) non-profits focusing on health, hunger, or everyday heroes. Grants under $2,500 are available, with an application process that promises a response within four weeks. These grants support a wide range of initiatives, including life-saving medical research and care (with a special emphasis on pediatric institutions), hunger relief efforts such as food donations to pantries and improving access to food, and appreciation for community heroes like military, veterans, first responders, and at-risk youth mentoring. The foundation continues the legacy of Wawa’s founding family in serving and helping institutions that benefit the community.
