The Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF) aims to invest in the economic self-sufficiency of women and opportunities for girls in Wyoming. Established in 1999 as part of the Wyoming Community Foundation, WYWF leverages funds through its endowment to make grants and spearhead initiatives for the benefit of women, girls, and the broader community.
The grant program from WYWF focuses on three broad goals: income and asset development, mentoring and leadership, and systematic change. Specifically, it supports programs that help women achieve economic self-sufficiency according to the Wyoming Self-Sufficiency Standard, including education and job training, first home purchases, business development, and retirement savings. Additionally, it funds mentoring and leadership programs that boost confidence and connections for women and girls, including leadership training, and STEM programming. Further, the grant aims at systemic changes by addressing barriers to economic self-sufficiency and the gender wage gap, through advocacy, education, and initiatives like wage negotiation training and awareness campaigns.
