Founded in 1924, the American Society of Parasitologists is an organization comprising around 700 scientists from academia, industry, and government dedicated to the study and teaching of the scientific discipline of parasitology. Its members are involved in advancing parasitology across various scientific fields including behavior, biochemistry, ecology, immunology, molecular biology, and more.
The Ashton Cuckler New Investigator Award recognizes new investigators in the field of parasitology who have demonstrated significant contributions to the discipline. Named after Dr. Ashton C. Cuckler, a notable figure in parasitology and antiparasitic drug development, this award supports the awardee with travel and accommodation expenses, a cash prize in line with the society's current policy, and a commemorative plaque, all presented during the Society's Annual Meeting. Note, this award does not cover the meeting registration fees.
