The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) Broadband Public Housing Account aims to support broadband infrastructure projects within low-income communities. It focuses on providing grants and loans for the construction of broadband networks that offer free broadband services to residents. Targeted beneficiaries include publicly supported housing developments, farmworker housing, and other low-income housing or mobile home parks without access to free broadband services that meet or exceed state standards. With a budget of $15 million for the fiscal year 2022-2023, the program can finance up to 100% of the costs associated with installing inside wiring and broadband network equipment.
