The Capitol Hill Community Foundation aims to strengthen and care for the Capitol Hill community by leveraging neighborhood generosity and idealism. It focuses on supporting activities, projects, and organizations that enrich residents' lives and celebrate the area's history. Since 1989, it has contributed over $6.6 million to diverse initiatives, including seed funding for new efforts, supporting community programs, and undertaking significant initiatives to benefit the neighborhood.

Overview

The grant program focuses on supporting a variety of causes aimed at enriching the Capitol Hill community. These grants, up to $500, are awarded for one-time or emergency needs in areas including but not limited to educational enrichment for schools and teachers, out-of-classroom youth programming, arts and culture initiatives, social services support, and community space enhancements. The broad goal is to nurture vibrant, engaging, and supportive community activities that benefit all residents.
