The Community Fund for Carmel Valley (CFCV) aims to serve residents, businesses, and organizations in Carmel Valley by enabling contributions to the greater good. As an affiliate of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, it leverages administrative, investment, and grantmaking expertise to improve the lives of community members both presently and in the future. Governed by a local advisory board of volunteer community members, its mission centers around oversight, fundraising, setting grantmaking priorities, and awarding grants to achieve substantial local impact.

The Jean P. Fitton Fund grant program aims to support professional development and enrichment activities specifically designed for teachers in Monterey County. Through grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, the fund seeks to enhance education by focusing on three main areas: programs that benefit public elementary to high school teachers, nonathletic scholastic and arts programs for teacher professional development, and necessary equipment and facility acquisitions and improvements. Each year, approximately $33,000 is available for granting, with a total of up to $67,000 expected to be awarded during an 11-month grant period from December through October.
