  • Organizations from other states may be eligible if the beneficiaries are in the Foundation's region and the initiatives align with the Foundation's funding priorities
  • The geographic focus of the project must be for the benefit of residents of rural Oregon and Siskiyou County, California (60% or more)
  • "Rural" is defined as communities with populations of 35,000 or less and not adjacent to an urban or metropolitan area of 50,000 or more
  • Organizations must be up to date in filing final reports for any previous grants from the Foundation
  • If funding was received from the Foundation within the previous 12 months, check with Foundation’s staff before reapplying

Ineligibility

Individuals, except through specific grantee institution programs
Organizations that discriminate based on race, ability, gender, religion, or other protected status
Efforts aimed at debt retirement, reserve accounts, endowments, or defraying deficits
Activities focused on propaganda, proselytizing, influencing elections or legislation
Adult-only mental health or substance abuse treatment
Basic community infrastructure projects like housing, transportation, water treatment, sewage, or lighting
General K-12 workforce and professional development programs
Medical facilities tied to profit-based systems
Museums lacking child focus or strong outreach programs
Routine K-12 school curriculum development
Debt retirement or operating deficits schemes
Endowments or reserve funds initiatives
Propaganda efforts or activities aiming to influence elections or legislation.
