The funder's mission is to make a difference in the lives of rural children in Oregon and Siskiyou County, California by ensuring they have the necessary family, educational, and community supports to thrive.
The grant program supports projects that improve the lives of rural children through three main impact areas: Family, Education, and Community. In the Family area, it focuses on nurturing child-caregiver attachments, preventing child abuse and neglect, promoting financial stability, and supporting children in foster care among others. In Education, the grants aim to support early childhood education, literacy, family engagement, social-emotional learning, and preparation for postsecondary education or careers. The Community area seeks to enhance the local economies, social capitals, and public spaces that support children and families. Additionally, Technical Assistance grants are available to strengthen organizational capacities through training, strategic planning, or consulting services. Grant amounts can go up to $5,000.
