Through Civic Development, Community Grants, and Small Business Loans, supported by partnerships, donations, and volunteers, the Foundation aims to champion the passion and spirit of residents, provide assistance beyond expectations, and embody the "Golden Rule."

The Helping Hands Grants aim to assist organizations in the Golden community with unexpected expenses that impact their ability to fulfill their mission. This includes managing unforeseen emergencies, responding to immediate needs, or seizing unplanned opportunities that enhance community work. Criteria for eligibility focus on preserving organizational mission, documented community need, time sensitivity, community support, financial sustainability, and the potential impact on Golden residents. Available funds range from $500 to $30,000, targeting projects not planned in the annual budget or responding to emergencies that could not be foreseen.

Submission

Review Criteria

Preference will be given to proposals that most closely align with the set criteria for grants. Funding Focus Areas: The Golden Civic Foundation is open to all innovative proposals addressing new needs or opportunities within the Golden community, with particular emphasis on the following areas of priority:

Civic Development: Projects that enhance community facilities, such as property improvements (e.g., upgrading a school sports complex) or the acquisition and transformation of properties for community use (an example being the conversion of the old high school into the American Mountaineering Center).

Arts & Culture: Initiatives that foster a dynamic arts and culture scene, enriching community life and contributing to economic growth. This includes public art, performances (theater, music, dance), and more.

Social Services: Investments in infrastructure that provide community members of all ages with fair access to healthy lifestyle options, including facilities, amenities, and services essential for social welfare.

Education: Initiatives that enhance educational opportunities for students in Golden, offering high-quality education, support for higher education and vocational training, and pathways to rewarding careers and lives.

Environment: Projects focused on maintaining a vibrant local environment, with initiatives for outdoor enjoyment and conservation, such as community gardens, parks, and land conservation efforts.

Public Improvement: Projects aimed at the broad benefit of the Golden community, equipping individuals or groups with the skills necessary for positive impact, through strategic development and organizational planning.
