The University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program (Hawai‘i Sea Grant) aims to enhance the understanding, sustainable use, and stewardship of ocean and coastal resources in Hawai‘i and the Pacific through research, extension, education, and communication efforts. It is dedicated to improving the environmental health of coastlines and the broader community's understanding and management of coastal resources.
The E. Gordon Grau Coastal and Marine Resource Management and Policy Fellowship Program (Grau Fellowship), sponsored by Hawaiʻi Sea Grant, aims to provide recent graduates (Masters, Ph.D., or J.D.) with an educational and work opportunity in the field of coastal and marine resource management and policy. This fellowship is designed to help fellows gain on-the-job experience in the planning, implementation, and management of marine, coastal, and/or watershed resource policies and programs. It matches qualified recent graduates with host agencies in Hawaiʻi, including state, federal, or municipal agencies and nonprofits, for a 2-year paid fellowship. Each fellow receives a stipend and may have travel expenses covered by the host agency. The fellowship begins on September 1, 2024, and concludes on August 31, 2026.
