The Workforce Development Council focuses on enhancing the economic mobility of individuals in Idaho through workforce training, promoting innovation in talent development, and supporting the growth of the economy. The council is committed to providing a return on investment to Idahoans by increasing wages, job creation, capital investment, retention of Idaho’s workforce, credential attainment, and customer satisfaction. It aims to develop strategies that serve multiple employers, encourage best practices in talent pipeline development, and support the integration of technology in businesses.
The Outreach Committee of the Workforce Development Council provides funding for proposals that aim to publicize career education and workforce training opportunities. This includes spreading information about existing education and training programs and services not covered by the training fund. Priority is given to proposals that aim to kickstart new projects or expand upon existing programs. All funding is provided on a reimbursement basis. Proposal applications are reviewed monthly, typically on the first Wednesday, with a submission deadline one week prior to the review meeting.
