Overview

The Kirkpatrick Family Fund offers grants to support non-profit organizations contributing to the cultural, educational, and overall well-being of the community in central Oklahoma. The grant program focuses on endowment building for organizations, with a preference for those initiating public campaigns to engage and expand donor participation. Grants are available in two categories: Established Charitable Organization Endowment Fund, where organizations must raise $3 for every $1 contributed by the fund for existing Endowments at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, and New Charitable Organization Endowment Fund, offering a grant for organizations approved to establish a new Endowment. The fund is interested in supporting areas such as Arts & Humanities, Children, Youth, & Families, Community Development, Education, the Environment, Health, and Social Services, emphasizing programs that provide access to arts, nurture family health, foster community development, invest in education, beautify the environment, improve health access, and support self-reliance through social services.

  • Approved organizations must raise the full cash match in a 12-month period
  • Eligible for Matching Grant, Project Support, or General Operating Support Grant within the same year or 12-month period
  • Only funds raised for the Charitable Organization Endowment Program after grant approval counted towards the match
  • Encourages new investments in Charitable Organization Endowment Funds at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation
  • Median grant approximately $10,000; smaller awards for new organizations and occasionally larger grants for those closely aligned with strategic goals

Organizations with religious programs limiting participation based on specific religion or doctrine
Organizations that advocate for, or are involved in, killing, abuse, or harm of animals
Professional associations, educational and civic organizations without demonstrated broad community benefit
