The Center for the Study of Federalism (CSF) focuses on promoting the understanding and study of federalism as a fundamental principle and process within U.S. politics and government. It achieves this through academic research, publication, and education.
The Center for the Study of Federalism (CSF) offers grants up to $15,000 for original research and/or writing aiming to further the understanding of federalism as a fundamental principle of American governance, law, or politics. The grants support a wide range of focus areas including political philosophy and theory, political history and development, public policy, law (including constitutional law), political institutions, political behavior, and political culture. While research should primarily target U.S. federalism, comparative studies with a significant U.S. component are also considered. Grant funds may be utilized for various research-related expenses including travel, materials, fieldwork, assistance, and costs associated with conference attendance and publishing the research findings supported by CSF.
