The Margoes Foundation was established to serve as a resource and catalyst for imaginative and creative program opportunities, with the aim to support low-income and disadvantaged youth in obtaining a college education and assisting people with mental disabilities to live productive lives in non-institutional environments.
The grant program of the Margoes Foundation emphasizes two main priorities: College Access And Success, and Independent Living. For College Access And Success, the foundation supports programs preparing low-income and disadvantaged students for college and aiding them in graduating. These include after-school, summer college access programs, tutoring, mentoring, institutional scholarships, and financial aid, among others. Under Independent Living, the foundation prioritizes assistance for people with mental illness to live independently and productively, with support for community-based programs and services improving mental health care transition for young adults. Additionally, the foundation seeks proposals that integrate these focus areas, such as programs aiding mentally ill youth in attending college or encouraging underserved students to pursue careers in mental health or social work.
