Knott Foundation Grants

From Marion I & Henry J Knott Foundation Inc

Since our founding, we've dedicated ourselves to supporting nonprofit organizations throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore with over $60 million in grants. Our mission revolves around uplifting the community through Arts & Humanities, Catholic Activities, Education, Health Care, and Human Services, reflecting our founders' values and commitment to education, faith, accessible healthcare, and support for those in need. We aim to continue their legacy by funding initiatives that foster opportunity, strengthen the community, and adhere to the values and doctrines of the Catholic Church.

Type of Support

Overview

Our grant program is focused on enhancing the community through a diverse range of support areas including Arts & Humanities, Catholic Activities, Education, Health Care, and Human Services. We award approximately $2.5 million in grants each year to projects that fall within these categories, emphasizing the importance of arts and humanities in education, the role of Catholic faith and activities in community building, the transformative power of education, the necessity of accessible healthcare, and the critical need for human services to support vulnerable populations. Our funding opportunities include Grants, generally awarded under $100,000, and Discretionary Grants, smaller awards given on a rolling basis throughout the year to meet urgent community needs. Specific projects we support include capital expenses, development, new or ongoing programs, operating expenses, and technology, reflecting our dedication to providing comprehensive support for impactful community initiatives.
