The Expanding AI Innovation through Capacity Building and Partnerships (ExpandAI) program is designed to significantly broaden participation in AI research, education, and workforce development. It focuses on capacity development projects and fostering partnerships within the National AI Research Institutes ecosystem. The program encourages eligible Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to submit concepts and proposals aiming to expand AI innovation, with funding amounts ranging from $10,000,000 to $17,000,000. Specific grants include CAP awards, with up to $400,000 over two years, and PARTNER awards, ranging from $300,000 to $700,000 per year for up to four years.
