Type of Support

Overview

The Infrastructure Innovation for Biological Research Program aims to back the creation and significant improvement of research infrastructure that propels biological understanding forward. This grant program emphasizes support across three main programmatic areas: Bioinformatics, Instrumentation, and Research Methods. Its overarching goal is to enhance the ability of scientists to manipulate, control, analyze, or measure critical aspects of biological systems effectively. This, in turn, is crucial for tackling fundamental research questions within the realm of biology. Proposals are encouraged to either develop new infrastructure, significantly redesign current infrastructure, or adapt existing infrastructure in novel ways to advance or transform biological research. The supported projects should not only address significant biological questions but also prove beneficial to a broader research community beyond a single research team.
